Abstract

This study examines the lifespan and performance degradation of various solar panel technologies, including traditional silicon-based panels, PERC, and PERC + UV foil, in a simulated environment. The simulation modelled 10- and 25-year periods, considering temperature-related factors such as degradation and material fatigue. The results indicate that PERC + UV foil technology was the most effective, as it significantly reduced efficiency loss and improved energy output. Conversely, traditional silicon panels experienced the most rapid performance decline, particularly over extended periods. This research emphasizes the importance of temperature-reducing technologies in enhancing the long-term sustainability and efficiency of solar panel systems.
