Abstract
Thanks to the aim to develop the countryside, the flourishing tourism industry and the financial aid from the EU, projects were implemented throughout the country, or at least plans were generated. The success rate of realized and future developments shows significant disparities. The reason for this may be the changing quality of financial and marketing plans, the prognosis of the “positive vision of the future” based on exaggerated expectations. The imperfect architectural and landscape architectural design are important factors of uncertainty as well. The unconcerned squandering of invested goods, or, as I call it: “greyish-homogenish”. The strategic principles of architecture will be defined through the example of the sample project; adherence to these principles will enhance the efficacy of rural development works in order to improve the attraction of tourism.
