Absztrakt
J. A. Schumpeter wrote in his famous book „The theory of economic development" about the special characteristics of entrepreneurs, who are the main driver of development. He argued that innovation comes from the effort of entrepreneurs; he coined the word „entrepreneur- spirit". This notion became a popular research topic, a lot of authors deal with the special characteristics of entrepreneurial behaviour nowadays. We investigated special literature from this viewpoint, and we suppose that entrepreneurial characteristics are based on special values. According to Schwartz, behaviour is oriented by values through motivations. In our opinion, these values in case of the entrepreneurial behaviour are expressed as entrepreneurial values: risk taking, autonomy, power orientation, achievement orientation, eg. Our goal is to describe the value structure of an entrepreneurial behaviour what is desirable in the nowadays economy. At first, we investigated the difference between the values of Hungarian citizens and Hungarian entrepreneurs. Our results suggest that Hungarian entrepreneurs differ from other citizens in several dimensions of fundamental values, and they also differ from the special entrepreneurial values of the literature.
