Absztrakt

The employability of young graduates has been particularly concerned by social researchers in recent years due to the expansion of higher education and career follow-up systems. In this paper we analyze the first job search of young graduates. In recent database (DPR, 2015) is possible to select the responders who searched a job soon after graduation, which was not selectable in earlier databases. However, former analyses can be specified. With linear regression models we identify the graduates’ first job search time influencing factors. According to our results, the speed of finding a first job is influenced by the intensity of job search (number of job applications and interviews submitted), performance (study results), acquisition of diploma, and foreign experience. We found, that graduates, who found their first job quickly, are employed congruently to their profession. These research experiences can be useful information for students participating in higher education.
